WIT 2007

A multistory dance studio was designed in the North End of Boston. This Antigravity Dance Studio was different in the sense that the studios were required to contain enough height for the performers to jump high into the air. The site of this project was carefully studied and taken into consideration. Since it was on the corner of the North End, many old brick buildings surrounded it while it looked onto the new Greenway.

An important aspect of this building’s design is a large passage that goes through the building. This opening allows public passage through the building. The open space also has spaces for planters and vegetation and allows light to penetrate the building at many angles. Two large glass staircases also constantly allow light into the building from different directions on different floors.
